Nearly 80 professors, researchers and students from the Centre de recherche de l’Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Québec (CRIUSMQ), McGill University and the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont took advantage of the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the place to get acquainted, present their research work and discuss. The diversity of topics covered was very broad, ranging from imaging of neurons at the nanoscale to the study of whole animal models.
Participants had the privilege of hearing the keynote speaker Pierre Marquet, psychiatrist and physicist, attached to the Centre de neurosciences psychiatriques at the Université de Lausanne and the Brain Mind Institute at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. Specialist in brain imaging Dr Marquet has developed new techniques for three-dimensional microscopy to highlight the cellular dynamics within neurons. In total, a dozen oral presentations and twenty poster presentations were given. As always, the event also allowed many to enjoy the natural attractions of this wild and beautiful place, some even getting up at dawn to go trout fishing!
