Key researcher: Alan Fine, Ph.D.
Alan Fine, at Dalhousie University, develops technologies to study the nervous system in zebrafish.  Dr Fine has expertise in the development of new imaging instrumentation to study the nervous system.  By combining these tools with novel optogenetic approaches, he is able to bring new light to questions that have long puzzled brain researchers.

Dalhousie researchers also participate in an NSERC CREATE training grant: ASPIRE – Applied Science in Photonics and Innovative Research in Engineering, and trainees of this program have opportunities to participate in the neurophotonics research of the Platform members.
