The Account Manager, Research position is a highly skilled and highly technical sales position which relies heavily on consultative selling skills and the use of the Zeiss Selling Process (ZSP) to meet customer requirements and individual/territorial sales targets. Success requires strong customer support, both product and application, for all Lifescience and Materials products in the defined territories. This requires technical knowledge of each of the various systems and components and excellent time management skills. At all times, conduct in accordance with company guidelines and standards is expected.
Customer Support involves:
o Answering questions, resolving problems, providing application advice – via phone, fax, email, Go-to-Assist, or on-site visits
o Providing advice on equipment, methods, applications and techniques
o Providing training and resolving application issues with user(s)
o Assisting customers with room specifications, design, and LDA understanding independent of or in conjunction with the Specialist
Installation and Training involves:
o Providing the necessary and promised technical training as required
Ensuring that everything is finished!
o Ensure that any equipment problems are fixed or actions exist to rectify
Post-installation follow-up for customer satisfaction purposes
Product Support Responsibilities:
o Providing feedback to the appropriate Product Manager based on product and trend observations in the market
o Ensuring accuracy of part numbers and quotation kits
o Providing feedback regarding literature and promotional material
o Providing feedback regarding Technical Support Material - lockout specs, data sheets
o Providing feedback for Application Bibliographies
o Providing competitive information
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Biological Sciences or Business is preferred from an accredited college or university.
• Working knowledge of advanced microscopy and image analysis.
• Good knowledge of MS Office and strong presentation skills required.
• Experience in technical sales and managing a field coverage area for technical sales or product support.
• Positive "can do" attitude, coupled with a willingness to continuously acquire product and application knowledge independently.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
