Position 1: Advanced Microscopy Imaging Specialist

Location: Montreal (home office based, field sales)

Total Compensation: 60k base salary, Car Allowance, 40-60k+ uncapped commissions for on track sales

Iris Scientific is a specialty recruiter working exclusively in the scientific equipment industry.  We are working with a world class scientific instrumentation manufacturer to find a field-based Advanced Microscopy Imaging Specialist for Quebec and Eastern Ontario (based out of the Montreal area).  This is an exciting and rewarding role for someone who loves: technology and high-end scientific equipment, helping scientists solve their research problems, and communicating complex topics.  We are looking for someone with the unique combination of scientific knowledge and credibility, an aptitude for business and sales, and microscopy experience.  If this sounds like you – please get in touch.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Work as a team with Sales Specialists to achieve sales targets by managing all aspects of the sales cycle; including: prospecting, customer needs-assessment, follow-up, quotation preparation, demonstration, closing, and follow up customer support
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer microscopy applications and challenges and make authoritative recommendations on solutions
  • Lead high end instrument product demonstrations and customer training sessions
  • Conduct on site professional customer meetings and product demonstrations
  • Working with Sales Specialists, respond to institutional RFPs and Tenders in a proficient and timely manner
  • Maintain professional and constructive relationships with colleagues to ensure positive sharing of and collaboration on: product information and feedback, scientific application updates, sales strategies, and general market updates.
  • Be active with self-directed learning regarding microscopy technology/applications, and sales/business practices using extensive company resources
  • Maintain sales opportunity information within company CRM software to ensure management has accurate sales pipeline information

 

Essential Requirements:

  • University Degree within the science field.  Advanced degrees in life sciences highly preferred.
  • A high degree knowledge and experience with life sciences microscopy and its applications.  Experience with advanced techniques such as confocal and fluorescence microscopy is highly advantageous.
  • A high degree of computer literacy is required.  Must be proficient within a Windows environment: Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.  Ability to adapt and learn new software is key.
  • Must be comfortable with computer hardware and software troubleshooting (e.g. driver, software installation/troubleshooting, PC card installation, etc).
  • Must exhibit a strong ability to work in a team environment
  • Highly developed organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Should be comfortable presenting complex topics to groups.
  • Must be fully bilingual in French and English
  • Ability to travel throughout the eastern Canada region, with occasional trips across Canada and to the USA.

Position 2: Microscopy Sales Specialist

Location: Montreal (home office based, field sales)
